PAC-R (Polyanionic Cellulose, PAC) is a water-soluble cellulose polymer used mainly as a viscosity modifier, fluid-loss reducer, and rheology-control additive.
Main uses of PAC-R
1. Oil & gas drilling fluids
* Controls fluid loss into the formation.
* Improves drilling-fluid viscosity and suspension.
* Helps stabilize the wellbore.
* Common in water-based drilling muds.
2. Construction
* Used in tile adhesives, cementitious products and dry-mix mortars.
* Improves water retention and workability.
* Helps control viscosity and reduces segregation.
3. Mining
* Used as a flocculation/rheology aid and for slurry management.
* Can improve suspension and water retention in mineral-processing systems.
