The GuAn social media platform is a project to help create a cyber platform that will serve us locally as well as internationally as Nigerians and Africans. Over the years, we have mostly endeared ourselves to social media platforms from entrepreneurs of mostly Western/European leaning. There is no denying that these platforms have been very useful to us especially in information dissemination and connectivity. However, they operate by their own rules which in many occasions will not be in our favour.
What if, for some reason, the owners of these foreign platforms decide to pull the plugs on our daily usage of these platforms or the president of our country, an authoritarian entity, decides that it was in their own interest to block us and we can't do anything about it.
