*Hair Description*
Hair is one of the most defining parts of how we present ourselves. It grows from follicles in the scalp and is made mostly of a protein called keratin. While it has no nerves or blood vessels once it leaves the follicle, it plays a huge role in protection, identity, and expression.
*1. Structure and Texture*
Each strand has 3 layers. The inner medulla, the middle cortex which holds color and strength, and the outer cuticle which protects it like shingles on a roof.
Hair texture is usually described in 4 main categories:
- *Type 1: Straight* - Sleek, shiny, and tends to get oily faster because natural oils travel down easily.
- *Type 2: Wavy* - Falls between straight and curly. Ranges from loose S-waves
