- What about Ford EcoSport in Nigeria ?
Ford EcoSport crossover is a lovely model that was designed and built in 2003 for the Brazilian market. Afterward, it was brought to Europe's market yet hasn't registered any significant success, yet. The model is based on the Fiesta and has certain similarities with it. Yet, in spite of the general language of Ford vivid on this make, it does feature distinct detail differences to Focus, Fiesta, and other makes. The car has a huge front grille that captures the eye along with the spare wheel at the back. The interior of Ford EcoSport is very spacious with comfortable front and rear seats. Ford used the same material for the cabin interior as that used for Fiesta yet with harder and more shiny plastic. What concerns the engine, it comes in three variants to choose from: a new 1.5-liter Duratorq TCCi diesel, a 125 PS 1.0 EcoBoost petrol like that of Fiesta, and a 1.5-liter Duratec petrol with 112 PS. The diesel engine, unfortunately, is highly criticized by drivers and car experts. The Ecoboost engine is acquired as satisfactory yet not good. Once there is some extra weight in the car (about 200 kilos), the performance of the car greatly blunts. The ride itself is quite stiff and harsh. The drivers complain of the vibration they feel through the pedals and wheels while driving. Another complaint is about the fuel economy that Ford EcoSport does not provide. It rides 61mpg while the greatest part of Ford EcoSport competitors today are able to ride 70mpg and above.
