I hold a Master of Education in Science Education and Bachelor of Science in Education (Biology) from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. I have been teaching Science and Biology for the past 18 years in reputable public and private international schools operating the British curriculum as well as the West African curriculum. In addition, I am a certified IGCSE teacher as well as a registered teacher in Nigeria. In addition, I am a seasoned examiner with the West Africa Examination Council. I am also an expert in lesson plan preparation and differentiation strategies to cater for learners of different categories. I am glad to inform you that my students have recorded 95% A* - C in their IGCSE exams. I believe strongly that I shall impact hugely and positively on the academic performances of the students I shall be teaching.
I have a proven track record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice and a good ability to use IT to support teaching and learning. In addition, I am able to engage, motivate and support children, staff and parents. I am a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creatively and innovate. Furthermore, I have always been a positive and enthusiastic member of staff willing to be fully involved in extra-curricular activities. Most importantly of all, I fully subscribe to the maxim that “all complex decision-making be based on what constitutes best practice for the child”.
The objectives that students should have a clear understanding that knowledge, excellence, hard work, and integrity are the fundamentals for future success as well as developing students’ personality, talents, mental and physical abilities through the school’s curricular and co-curricular activities are what I believe in. Aside teaching, I am also involved in pastoral activities, I worked as the Head of Boarding (boys). Furthermore, I am the patron of chess and scrabble clubs; activities that have enhanced the thinking capabilities and diction of my members.
All the years of my teaching, I have garnered a lot experiences through the teaching of students with diverse learning capabilities and I can boldly say that I am equipped with the acumen required to teach successfully. Also, my temperance is such that can withstand (albeit deal with) any misdemeanor or misconduct from any of my students. I am also easily accessible to my students in order to attend to their issues as much as I am empowered.
As regards administration, I was the Head of Science in my former place of employment; a position that saddled me with the responsibilities of overseeing teaching and non-teaching members in my department. I did carry out lesson observations and performance management, results of which I communicated to the Head of School. This position also enabled me to participate in some decision making in the school as a whole
