Teena’s smoked catfish is processed by Teena’s farm located in Ikorodu town, Lagos state,southwestern Nigeria. It lies near the Lagos Lagoon, on the Bight of Benin, 14 miles (23 km) northwest of Lagos.
Teenas farm, a family business started operations in 2017 to provide lovers of fish products all over the world easy access to luxurious and healthy source of protein processed under hygiene conditions.
We grow and source our farm raised catfish from reputable farms that raise their fish using high- quality, safe and secured feed mixtures.
Our smoked catfish is hand processed, eviscerated (gutted) and seasoned under strict hygiene conditions. It is dried using the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIRO) smoking kiln which is a super-efficient charcoal powered brick and aluminum kilns. The machine is built with fin-like ribs that channel smoke from charcoal away from the fish upwards to a chimney hence it produces a near 98% smoke-free dry fish experience compared to the firewood kiln.
Our Smoked dry fish can be used to prepare Nigerian dishes such as Egusi Soup,Edikang Ikong Soup, Bitterl Leaf (Ofe Onugbu),Pepper Soup, Ogbono Soup, Efo Riro, Okra Soup, Edo Esan ( Black Soup), Oha Soup, Miyan Taushe (Nigerian pumpkin Soup, Banga Soup, Afang Soup, Tomatoes Stew, Jollof Rice, Spaghetti,Yam Porridge and others.
Catfish is a moderately Fatty fish, low in Calories and Mercury. It is a good source of high quality protein, cabohydrate, Lipids, Amino Acids, Minerals, Vitamins B-12. It is also very rich in sodium and pottassium that helps to control blood pressure and balance mineral levels in the human body.
