*Leads a team of advertising compliance professionals.
*Provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff.
*Hires, evaluates and counsels personnel.
*Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
*Serves as a subject matter expert on SEC, FINRA and MSRB rules pertaining to communications with the public.
*Handles escalated reviews and issues.
*Monitors developments, proposed rules changes and amendments to applicable rules and regulations
*Partners with marketing leaders in the development of sales and marketing materials that meet the needs of the business and comply with applicable rules and internal policies.
*Maintains and demonstrates a thorough understanding of business needs and marketing strategy.
*Provides guidance and support to the legal, compliance and corporate policy issues related to print and online marketing.
*Ensures the adequacy of controls and policies, identifies actual and potential problem areas, and responds to reportable issues.
*Cultivates strong working relationships with internal clients, outside regulatory agencies, and industry peers.
*Serves as an advocate to the business and negotiates issues to an effective resolution.
*Administers a highly credible, knowledgeable, and efficient advertising review process.
*Ensures that internal service levels are consistently met and maintained.
*Presents ongoing communication and training to business liaisons.
*Provides guidance, input and support on department and corporate projects, as necessary.
*Participates in the response to regulatory proposals, attends seminars, and reviews competitive advertising and industry practices/trends to keep abreast of current issues and regulatory changes.
*Leads complex initiatives and projects of medium to large scale. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
*Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
*Minimum of 5 years general business/ financial service industry experience, with 2-3 years advertising compliance and management experience strongly preferred .
*Specific knowledge of FINRA, SEC and MSRB advertising rules .
*Excellent communication skills, including strong negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
*Flexibility and sound business judgment.
*Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
*Excellent time management and organizational skills.
