I am a graduate of fisheries with mixed job experiences in animal production and fisheries. For one to get good hatchling(fry), you need a good set of broodstock and hatching skill. i usually make use of ovaprim to be at angle 45° around the dorsal fin which will stimulate the ripening and easy discharge of eggs from the female broodstock. while stripping your male off its milt, you dont allow contact with water but only normal saline. you then mix and place on the cacaban in the already prepared water.
several parameters are essential to be checked in water for healthy growth. parameters like water pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, nitrites e.t.c. pH must be between 6.5-7.5. Dissolved oxygen must always be high. when one notices fish gulping for air on the surface, quickly aerate by any means available e.g release more water, agitate the water or use an aerator. Flow through system is still my best form of practise. Also, i have the knowledge of pond construction. thanks
