About the Workshop
Public procurement processes have generally not been yielding the desired outcomes in Nigeria, hence, projects are usually delivered with cost overruns arising from various claims and variations, delayed completion or outright abandonment; and quality shortfalls. Such problems will be avoided if the right contractors and service providers are selected through a properly structured requalification process, non-acceptance of unrealistically low or high beds through a sound bid examination and evaluation processes, and above all, by understanding and complying with the Public Procurement Act.
This workshop is designed to assist procuring entities as well as contractors, suppliers and consultants to have a better understanding of the public procurement processes, such as the preparation and advertisement of the solicitation documents, examination and evaluation of bids, determination of non-responsive bids, selection of the lowest responsive evaluated bidder, and preparation and signing of contracts. The workshop will also cover the tendering procedures for contractors and consultants, so that they can bid realistically and competitively.
