Oddly enough, in spite of the $100 price tag, the device still used the old school aaaa battery. The new version of it takes a cue from the apple pencil and samsung s pen, by using a “charging coil”, as leaked documents show.
The new surface pen reached the fcc this week, for the usual regulatory visit and it revealed said coil. This means the aaaa battery is out of the picture and replaced with wireless charging. A magnetic attachment to the device is also likely
