HOW FOREVER FIT 1 WORKS:
Using these products aid in fat burning, metabolism boosting and appetite suppression, they don’t go into great detail about how they do so.
More information can be found by looking at each individual product page on the Forever Living website, but it may also be wise to look at the individual ingredients in the products and their alleged weight loss properties.
How Each Ingredient Works
Forever Living specialise in aloe vera based products, and in Forever F.I.T. 1 they include 4 litres of their Forever Aloe Vera Gel®. They claim that consuming 8 fl oz of the gel each day can improve your digestive system and regulate energy levels because it’s ‘packed with over 200 compounds’.
These compounds are often known as ‘anthraquinones’, and one of the main compounds found in aloe vera is called ‘aloin’. Aloin is said to have a laxative effect on the body when consumed orally, which may be why aloe vera is used as an ingredient in detox products and cleanses, because it’s believed to cleanse the body and improve the digestive system.
Protein (whey and soy)
Perhaps the most predominant role of protein supplements is to aid in muscle building, strengthening and recovery. Whey protein is said to aid in muscle gaining because it’s allegedly more soluble, so the body can therefore digest it quickly and efficiently, whilst providing the body with essential nutrients and amino acids which are believed to aid in growth and repair.
Soy protein is arguably used less for building and strengthening muscle like whey protein is, and is instead used by those looking to lose weight because the calorie content is much lower, and this may be used not only to reduce fat but to also suppress the appetite and prevent cravings.
There’s a blend of B vitamins in Forever Therm™, and they’re said to reduce the amount of fat that’s absorbed into the body because unlike other vitamins, they’re water-soluble. The other types of vitamin are fat-soluble and are therefore absorbed straight into the body, while B vitamins are only in the body for a short while before exiting through urine.
More specifically, vitamin B6 is said to target fat reduction by ‘fuelling’ bodily cells which allegedly causes fat to burn. These results are said to be more significant when combined with other ingredients such as zinc, and this combination is believed to improve digestion and not store food as fat in the body.
Green tea extract
Green tea is said to aid in both fat burning and boosting metabolism due to its high caffeine contents, as well as its ‘superfood’ qualities and the amount of antioxidants and catechins that are allegedly found in green tea.
Caffeine is said to be thermogenic, meaning that it increases internal body heat, and this is believed to convert fat cells into energy which is said to increase the amount of energy in the body, making you feel less sluggish and more alert. Thermogenesis is said to be a safer, more natural way to burn fat quickly.
Guarana is also believed to burn fat and boost metabolism in the same way as green tea does: through thermogenesis because of its higher caffeine contents.
As mentioned before, thermogenesis is said to raise internal body heat and convert fat cells into energy.
Subsequently, this is believed to increase and speed up the pace of burning fat, as well as potentially making you feel more alert and active.
Green coffee bean
Another ingredient that claims to burn fat and boost metabolism through thermogenesis is green coffee bean, and this is again due to the higher caffeine content within the green coffee beans.
Thermogenesis is an increasingly popular method for weight loss and is said to be when our internal body heat is raised, and this is believed to use any stored fat cells in the body for energy, making us feel less sluggish and more energetic, and some say that this speeds up the rate of burning fat in a more natural way.
Garcinia cambogia and its main ingredient ‘hydroxycitric acid (HCA)’ appear to be the main active ingredients in Forever Living’s Forever Garcinia Plus®, and this is the case for many weight loss products that are heavily garcinia cambogia based.
It’s said that garcinia cambogia burns fat because it stops the production of an enzyme known as ‘citric lyase’ which is produced naturally in the body. Citric lyase is believed to be responsible for forming fatty acids, cholesterol and triglycerides which all potentially contribute towards weight gain. Therefore, blocking the production of this enzyme essentially stops it from creating these weight-gaining substances, and may therefore aid in weight loss.
Furthermore, garcinia cambogia is said to increase levels of the hormone ‘serotonin’ in the body. Serotonin is perhaps most commonly known for its impact on mood and emotion, but it’s also said to act as a natural appetite suppressant.
This may be a mental process or a physical process; a rise in serotonin is believed to reduce sugar and carbohydrate cravings specifically, which may stop you from snacking on unhealthy foods. Furthermore, many people comfort eat when their mood is low, and so by regulating mood it could discourage dieters from comfort eating for best results
