My record of academic achievements demonstrates attributes that make me a valuable employee. I hold a Masters of Science degree in Medicines Management from the University of Sunderland and a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree which I earned at the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria.
I worked with Turkish consultants at Nizamiye hospital where I was the only Nigerian Pharmacist. I was able to work with the Turkish pharmacist together we were able to render the necessary clinical pharmacy services to the patients and other health workers
I have gained experience working as a pharmacist in several health institutions in Nigeria and also gained pharmacy experience working as a dispenser in the United Kingdom.
I worked at Lobly Hill Pharmacy, Gateshead, United Kingdom where I was involved with filing prescriptions, preparation of dosette boxes, and drug procurement and shelving.
I served at the National Defence College Clinic, Abuja where my duties included drug dispensing, patient counseling, recording of prescription error and drug procurement and shelving amongst other duties related to my role.
For my internship, I worked as an intern pharmacist in several hospitals in Abuja on a rotational basis and I gained lots of experience working in those capacities. Amongst the hospitals I worked are Gwarinpa General Hospital, Abuja, Wuse General Hospital, Abuja, and General Hospital, Asokoro, Abuja. Other places I worked include the Human Health & Service Secretariat, Abuja, Hospitals Management Board, Abuja, and the Abuja Central Medical Stores.
I have worked in several community pharmacies where I was involved with product sales, stock and inventory management and general operational management of the pharmacy. I counseled patients, prescribed and dispensed drugs, administered first aid and rendered health information to patients.
I also worked in the HIV unit of the hospitals where I dispensed HIV drugs and counseled patients on lifestyle and medication use.
My study in Medicines Management has allowed me draw on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to help define, critically assess and resolve a wide range of health and pharmacy management problems (therapeutics and cost) which I might encounter during my professional career. I have gained critical analytical skills, can apply knowledge to complex situations in a pharmacy context and can evaluate alternative situations making recommendations for practice
