My bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering with a speciality in Power and Machinery, exposed me to the available areas of specialization in Engineering thus stimulating my interest for a job position. Upon graduation from the University, I was engaged in some public teaching jobs to assist students, especially those with learning difficulties. I had a rare opportunity to help the disadvantaged set of people. Subsequently, I changed jobs where from the quality of my work and my attitude of taking responsibility, I was elevated to the position of a supervisor within a very short time and hence assigned to oversee the activities of several others who I met on the job. I take ownership of responsibilities and believe clear communication and understanding is key to resolution of issues. This exposed me to generally working with people/community and touching their lives in diverse ways.
I worked as spool tracing system supervisor in an Onshore construction company, where I monitor the movement of spool from fabrication stage to erection using the tag system. By ensuring that all spools have the correct tag before leaving the workshop and storage areas, I have imbibed the principles of system reliability. To better understand safety precautions in a company like yours, I took up a certification course in Onshore Offshore Health, Safety and Environment offered by International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.
The experiences garnered from all these I strongly believe puts me in good stead for greater responsibility and challenges as advertised in this vacancy. I love working in teams as I believe two good heads can yield greater results through strong synergy
